What Is the Role of the Magnetic Sensor on the Cylinder?
The magnetic sensor on the cylinder is mainly used to detect the position of the piston in the cylinder, and users can directly install it in the cylinder for use. As a detection device, the sensor is the primary link in implementing automatic control and automatic detection, and can meet various requirements of users for equipment information transmission, processing, storage, recording, display, and control.
In recent years, cylinder magnetic sensor has become increasingly miniaturized, intelligent, digital, multi-functional, and systematic. The cylinder is the cavity where the piston is placed on the engine cylinder body. It is the track of the piston movement, where the gas burns and expands. The cylinder wall can also dissipate some of the heat generated by the gas explosion, keeping the engine at normal working temperature. The magnetic induction sensor on the cylinder is mostly a magnetic sensor (Hall switch), that is, the Hall switch fixed outside the cylinder (but the position can be adjusted), and the piston on the cylinder is equipped with a magnetic ring (which moves with the piston). When the magnetic ring on the piston moves to the position of the Hall switch, the Hall switch outputs a signal and sends out the positioning signal.
Application of Magnetic Cylinder Sensor
Magnetic switches or other switch quantity sensors can be installed on the cylinder to sense the working status of the cylinder, so that the control circuit can receive the signal from the sensing switch and make the next action. When the sensing switch is connected to the input end of the timing program controller, it can be used for motion control related to position, such as stop at position, start at position, alarm at position, alarm when not at position, etc.
The control function of the cylinder is achieved by the sensing switch and the controller together. The specific functions can be set through the function setting table to achieve the functions required by various control devices. The application fields of magnetic sensors for cylinders cover mechanical manufacturing, industrial process control, automotive electronics products, communication electronics products, consumer electronics products, and special equipment.
Application of Magnetic Cylinder Sensor
Special equipment
Special equipment mainly includes professional electronic devices used in medical, environmental protection, meteorology, and other fields. Currently, the medical field is a booming market with huge sales volume and considerable profits for sensors. In this field, sensor devices are required to be miniaturized, low-cost, and highly reliable.
Industrial automation
In the industrial field, sensors are used in process control, industrial machinery, various measurements of process variables (such as temperature, liquid level, pressure, flow, etc.), measurement of electronic characteristics (current, voltage, etc.) and physical quantities (motion, speed, load, and strength), as well as the rapid development of traditional proximity/position sensors.
Communication electronics products
The significant growth in mobile phone production and the continuous increase in new functions of mobile phones have brought opportunities and challenges to the sensor market. The market share of color screen phones and camera phones is increasing, which has increased the proportion of cylinder magnetic field sensor applications in this field. In addition, ultrasonic sensors used for group telephones and cordless telephones, and magnetic field sensors used for magnetic storage media, will also experience strong growth.
Automotive industry
The key to the level of electronic control system in modern high-end cars lies in the number and level of pressure sensors used. Currently, dozens to nearly a hundred sensors are installed on an ordinary family car, while luxury cars can have more than two hundred magnetic cylinder sensors, usually with more than 30 types and up to hundreds of types.
